A night photo fisheye view with the moon hanging over a construction crane truck. I set up the camera behind the crane truck and waited until the moon hung perfectly overhead before taking this photo. I snuck in a quick visit just before Thanksgiving Day, photographing for two nights in a row in the California desert near the Mexican border. And I managed to stay awake for Thanksgiving dinner the following evening, a great success. Although warm and sunny during the day, by the time I packed up, it was below freezing and I had ice on my windshield. I illuminated the scene with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device during the exposure. Thanks for looking!
The grounded remains of what I believe is a rare and rusty 1920s Fageol truck cab. Night photo with some fun light painting. I snuck in a quick visit just before Thanksgiving Day, photographing for two nights in a row in that desert of mystery near the border of Mexico. And I managed to stay awake for Thanksgiving dinner the following evening, a great success. Although warm and sunny during the day, by the time I packed up, it was below freezing and I had ice on my windshield. I illuminated the scene with a ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device during the exposure while the stars in the heavens curved endlessly overhead. Thanks for looking.
The day after Christmas? Time for some night photography. Although my Clear Outside app called for almost 100% cloud coverage, it indicated solely high clouds. And I knew high clouds often look beautiful when smeared in a long exposure image. I ended up staying until 4:30 am catching up with my night photography friend before driving back while guzzling Monster energy drinks and listening to metal and Lakers podcasts. I illuminated the scene with a handheld Protomachines LED2 during the exposure. This was one of the last photos of the evening, and things sometimes have a tendency to get strange during that time.
