I snuck in a quick visit just before Thanksgiving Day, photographing for two nights in a row in the California desert near the Mexican border. And I managed to stay awake for Thanksgiving dinner the following evening, a great success. Although warm and sunny during the day, by the time I packed up, it was below freezing and I had ice on my windshield.
